Outreach

St. John's is always looking for ways to fulfil our mission of reaching out in service to all. 

Some of the outreach activities at the parish include:

Eat Simply so others may Simply Eat

Our Lenten outreach program this past year invited parishioners to make a daily decision surrounding their food; to have a little less, or to go without that second cup of coffee. The money saved is then collected and distributed to those in need.

Good News Ministry

Every week when there is Sunday School the children share with the congregation some 'Good News' that has occurred, we then invite the adults of the congregation to share as well. A 'Good News' Jar is available for donations upon sharing, the proceeds of which go to support Sleeping Children Around the World.

Food Sharing Centre

This year has seen the redevelopment of our Food Sharing Centre under the leadership of one St. John's parishioners and the support of the entire congregation. Our Food Sharing ministry includes 'Food Bank Sunday' which occurs the 2nd Sunday of every month. The donations go to stocking our own shelves and in partnership with St. Jude's we support their ongoing Food Sharing Ministry by donating a portion of what we receive. 

Flower Delivery

Each week after the service the altar flowers are delivered to members of the congregation that are no longer able to attend on Sunday mornings.
